Spring Message #1

It is that time of year where we are frantically trying to get winterguard into competition mode, winterdrumline started, massive middle school recruiting efforts taking place, basketball pep-bands, a marching band show and two concert bands ready for state festival. Whew! And everybody thinks marching band takes a lot of time. It is all worth it. I hope you have been able to look back at the success of the past year and a half. It has certainly been enjoyable. Thanks to all of those who have made it possible. The students, staff and boosters have all come together to make this one of the best bands in our area and quite frankly, have done it in a very short period of time.

In just a few weeks festival will be behind us and tryouts for Guard, Drum Major and Percussion will be upon us. Check the site for those tryout dates on February 1st.

Next year's show is going to be spectacular. Mr. Shaw, Ms. Roach and I have been working on this since November and it promises to be awesome. The show will consist of three tunes: One More Time, Bolero and Malaguena. As soon as the music is ready I will pass it out. It is currently in the hands of an accomplished arranger and I look for it to be ready sometime in late April.

Best Wishes on a wonderful spring,

Spence Milligan
